Project overview
King Centaur combines the Klon Centaur with the best one-half of the Knight of Tone circuit, giving you two great transparent overdrives in one. We added an order switch that allows you to stack them as you like, so prepare to have a lot of fun with it.
Introduction
This unique PCB Guitar Mania design allows you to stack, in the order you desire, the Klon Centaur with one-half of the Knight of Tone circuit to create the ultimate dual transparent overdrive.
The Knight of Tone section has a dual voltage capability that lets it be fed on 9v or 18v through an internal potentiometer. Important: NEVER SET BOTH SWITCHES ON -UP POSITION AT THE SAME TIME.
When we first tried this mix, we expected something good, but boy, let me tell you: both circuits stack amazingly and deliver a thick transparent overdrive that surpassed our expectations!

Could not get it to work I followed instructions I’ve built probably 15 PCB pedals for some reason this one isn’t working. when I engage the pedal, neither side works and there’s a buzzing sound when I disengaged the signal passes through. There’s no shorts everything is adequately soldered I don’t possess the knowledge to fix it so I guess it’s just a brick.

Dear Dany,
Thank you for your review about your build of the King centaur. We apologize for any issues you may be experiencing in making your pedal work properly. We have tested this model intensely to ensure the PCB is flawless, so we are at your disposition to make this pedal work 🙂
We suggest that you try checking the orientation of the order switch, as this is often a simple fix for this type of issue. Please ensure that the switch toggle moves in the same direction as displayed on the silkscreen. It follows the same vertical movement as the diode and mode toggles.
Please take a look at the attached pictures.
To remove the 3pdt order switch, we recommend applying a small amount of additional solder to the connections on the switch. This will help to loosen the switch and make it easier to remove.
Once you have applied the additional solder, use a soldering pump to quickly and effectively remove all of the excess solder. Be sure to use caution when handling the soldering pump, as the nozzle can become hot during use.
After you have successfully removed the excess solder, you should be able to gently wiggle the switch free from its connections. If you are having difficulty removing the switch, you may need to apply a bit more solder and try again. Just be sure not to apply too much heat, as this can melt the switch terminals or the PCB and can potentially damage the connections on your device.
If you continue to experience problems after checking the orientation of the switch, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us again. We are here to help and will do our best to assist you in resolving any issues you may be having with your pedal King centaur.
Another important factor is to set up one of the dip switches on, either for 9v or 18v. This controls the Voltage into the KoT section.
Thank you for your patience and for choosing our product.
Hope you will make it work, as this is a great dual overdrive 🙂
Sincerely,
Customer Support

4 stars cause there was a typo in the docs. Glady PCB Mania support spotted it quickly and help me to have the pedal working as it should. For anyone having inconveniences with the Klon Side replace R31 and R32 for 22k.
The pedal itself is great, I love using them both stacked together.

Amazing drive! This one will go to my board for sure. The PCB is of great quality and the design is great. The only thing I found out was that there is a mistake on the part list on the Klon side. Just change R31 and R32 for 22k and you will have it working properly.
