Freeman Unchained

Project overview

Inspired by the BE-OD Deluxe, which features the same legendary Friedman BE-100 amplifier in a box as the original BE-OD but adds the Friedman’s Dirty Shirley in a second channel. We have upgraded the original design by replacing both Tight Switches with potentiometers, resulting in even better tonal control.

Introduction

The original Friedman BE-OD stands as an enduring classic that has retained its unwavering popularity to this day. Building upon this legacy, the Freeman Unchained emerges as a dual pedal, boasting the identical circuitry found in its predecessor while adding the distinctive Dirty Freeman inspired by Friedman’s Dirty Shirley amplifier. This additional overdrive pedal excels in delivering a British-style grit, offering remarkable touch sensitivity and tonal versatility reminiscent of the esteemed all-tube amplifier head.

The outcome of this mix? The full potential of the Friedman brand embodied in a great pedal equipped with highly responsive controls that effortlessly transport you from subtle overdrives to the realms of sheer gain nirvana.

In our take, we have enhanced the control capabilities by replacing both Tight Switches in the original with potentiometers, resulting in even more precise control.
