Project overview:
Contracara is an NPN fuzz circuit, running parallel to a PNP fuzz circuit, both overdriven by its own op-amp drive circuit. The result? a board that can provide every texture of fuzz known to man, and some yet to discover. It also features a clean blend circuit. Either fuzz can be connected to separate amps or blended together; you can even use the clean connected to one amp, and the fuzz to another! There is much more to discover with this exceptionally well-thought circuit, but that´s up to you.
Introduction
If you’re looking for a fuzz pedal that will give you some of the most unique and interesting sounds possible, then you need to check out the Contracara. This pedal is unlike any other fuzz pedal on the market, thanks to its dual Germanium transistor design.
What this means is that you’ve get two different distortion pedals linked together at the ground rail. One side controls the positive half of the waveform, while the other controls the negative half. This lets you create very odd asymmetrical waveforms and gives you a whole host of new sound possibilities that other fuzz pedals just can’t match.
Not only that, but the Contracara also features two outputs, so you can have one fuzz sound coming out of each output or create a mix of the two. Plus, a boost footswitch lets you adjust the positive and negative sides to get the right amount of boost.
This is the pedal that will help you take your sound in all kinds of new and exciting directions. It’s like nothing else and is only available as a PCB Guitar Mania DIY project; get ready for some truly unique sounds!
