Project overview
Introducing the King’s Duel, the all-in-one board that packs the power of two classic optimized overdrive pedals!
Inspired by King Tone’s The Duellist, this is a must-have piece of gear for every pedalboard.
Introduction
This dual overdrive/boost and distortion pedal features optimized versions of two of the most loved and coveted overdrive pedals ever made: On one side, a modern version of the famous Tube Screamer, tweaked and optimized for more tone and versatility. On the other side, an improved Marshall BluesBreaker that become so popular that KOT decided to sell it as a separate pedal. Called the HeavyHand, the independent side B comes with more tone options, and you can also find it in our store.
One great thing about the King’s Duel is that the gain stacks really well. Each side is balanced to stack beautifully with each other for a 3rd lead channel that also stacks flawlessly with other pedals.
Let’s take a look at the controls to truly understand how amazing this board is. Each channel has its own set of controls consisting of Gain, Tone, and Volume. Also, each channel has a 3-way mini toggle to switch between 3 EQ settings: The first position is great for fattening up a single-coil guitar if needed. The second position is for stock. The third switch position is excellent for extra stingy blues tones or for use with a dark-voiced humbucker-equipped guitar.
It also has internal switches for more control and versatility and lets you refine the sound to suit you. You can choose between Asymmetrical or Symmetrical clipping for each channel for smooth or gritty sounds. Furthermore, there is a switch for Drive A for a darker EQ and a switchable distortion circuit for channel B for heavier sustaining lead tones.
