Project Overview
This PCB faithfully recreates the discontinued EQD Dream Crusher circuit – a modern evolution of the iconic silicon Fuzz Face – and adds a critical upgrade: external bias control. Dial in anything from smooth, singing sustain to gated, sputtery decay, all while retaining the touch-sensitive response and volume-cleanup magic that defines classic fuzz.
Introduction
Built upon the aggressive, cutting foundation of the silicon Fuzz Face, this PCB delivers the unmistakable snarl and clarity that cuts through a mix. The most distinctive feature of this pcb is the external Bias control. This knob lets you starve the transistors’ voltage in real-time, dramatically reshaping your fuzz texture:
-
Fully Clockwise (Standard): Full-voltage operation for maximum sustain and a powerful, uncompressed fuzz roar.
-
Rolled Back: Introduces voltage starvation, creating velcro-like gating, sputtering decay, and chaotic harmonic artifacts.
-
Sweepable Range: Seamlessly morph between tight, focused fuzz and splintered, unstable chaos.
This single addition unlocks the hidden, unstable textures usually buried within the circuit, putting them at your fingertips without mods or internal trimmers.
